Blu

“Blu” is a stop-motion short film directed by Michela Anedda, following a frustrated soul collector who lives in a village characterized by an exceptionally high longevity rate. Puppet Makers: Arianna Gheller, Matteo Burani & Sole Piccininno.

We built this puppet using a full ball-and-socket armature to ensure smooth and fluid movements. Through a mold, we created the body in soft silicone to enhance flexibility and realism. The numerous facial expressions were handcrafted in painted resin, while a wide selection of fabrics and materials was used to create the garments worn by this god of death in the film. Each element was carefully designed to support performance, durability, and expressive range, contributing to the character’s strong visual identity.
